The Word “Thanks” used 114 Times in the Bible. The Hebrew word for thanksgiving, as in English, The word is הוֹדָיָה listen and repeat. It comes from the root ה. ד. ה (h.d.h) meaning acknowledgment and thanks.

Why we give thanks to the Lord?

Giving thanks is so much more than working up feelings of gratitude or saying “thank you” when someone does something nice for you. As we saw above, giving thanks is directly tied to your relationship with God.

ACT of testimony to the nations for His Salvation and Redemption Psalm 95:1-2/ Psalm 118:14

Paul said that It is God’s will for us to be thankful in Christ Jesus in all circumstances. ( 1 Thess 5:18). In the OT time, the Psalmist emphasized that thanksgiving is intertwined with giving praise. In the true sense of the word, we give thanks in praise as an expression of our love and gratitude to our Creator. It is highest reason for our calling, that is to become His pleasure..
